Rhoda and I arrived at the Cornerstone Gardens on May 6th. This assemblage of small gardens designed by a roster of international landscape architects and designers gives Cornerstone its distinction; a gallery of contemporary gardens, including the pollinator garden, the barn, the cocktail garden, and the serenity garden, to name a few, all within an upscale outdoor retail setting. Nestled throughout Cornerstone are boutique retail shops, wine tasting rooms, and high-end restaurants.
Sunset, a lifestyle magazine focusing on western United States homes, cooking, gardening, and travel, uses the Cornerstone property for test kitchens and an outdoor demonstration kitchen. Sunset subscribers may recognize a few of the garden designs featured in the Spring 2021 issue.
During my visit, several garden spaces were being installed (under wraps, of course) for the upcoming Fall issue.
