Echos Across the Prairie
A Musical

It's 1894. What if you, a woman, single-handedly built a town, but the men of the town wouldn’t let you have a say in running it?

Henrietta Drummond or Henni ran away from New Orleans as a teenager looking for her father in the Indian Territory.  She got lost, was rescued by a Creek Lighthorse, and married him.  When the Creek renegade, Bucktrot, kills him, she inherits his land allotment and decides to found the town of Drummond.

Echoes Across the Prairie uses archival footage from those towns founded by African Americans escaping the repression of the Jim Crow South.
