The Raven

A Young Adult Novel, the Raven is about two young men, one black and the other white are Underground Railroad conductors during the most dangerous period in slavery. They operate from Ripley, Ohio, in the 1850s, the incendiary point of pro and anti-slavery sentiment. Valentine Kass and Solomon Tucker are Underground Railroad conductors who deliberately picked this town to conduct their exploits. They become legendary as the Raven only to find their friendship and their lives in jeopardy because of their slave rescues.
